Selesnya Landfall Standard Deck Guide and 60-Card List

14 min readBy Reid Marsh
Erode, Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam and Sazh's Chocobo fanned out on a dark green background, the cards behind the white splash

Selesnya Landfall is the white splash version of Mono-Green Landfall in Standard. It keeps the landfall creatures and land-development engine, then adds Erode and Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam.

Wizards ranked Selesnya Landfall fourth at 4.0% of the winner's metagame in its latest published Standard analysis. That sample predates Reality Fracture, released October 2, 2026, so it cannot tell us how that card changed this deck. The Mono-Green Landfall guide covers the base deck; this guide focuses on the white splash.

TL;DR: Selesnya Landfall keeps the green landfall core and adds four Erode plus two Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam. Erode destroys a creature or planeswalker at instant speed, and it can target your own earthbent land when another land entry is useful. Dyadrine turns +1/+1 counters on two creatures into a card and a 2/2 Robot, while the splash makes the mana base less clean and pushes Sapling Nursery into the sideboard.

What Is Selesnya Landfall in Standard? (quick answer)

Selesnya Landfall is a green-white Standard deck that turns land entries into counters, power, extra mana, and repeated triggers. Sazh's Chocobo, Mossborn Hydra, Earthbender Ascension, and Mightform Harmonizer make those entries matter on the battlefield, while Erode and Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam are the white splash. The deck wins by building a board that grows with each land, then attacking with amplified creatures.

Key Takeaways

  • Wizards' analysis covered over 400 successful decks from August 18 to August 31, 2026, and placed Selesnya Landfall fourth at 4.0% of the winner's metagame.
  • The sample predates Reality Fracture's October 2, 2026 release, so it does not describe that card's impact.
  • Erode is the splash's main reason to exist: it is a one-mana instant that destroys a creature or planeswalker, with a basic-land search as a possible cost for the target's controller. Wizards calls it a meaningful edge in the Landfall mirror.
  • Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam works with the counters made by Sazh's Chocobo and other creatures, turning an attack into a card and a 2/2 Robot when two creatures can pay its counter cost.
  • The win route is landfall pressure, not a separate combo. Land entries grow creatures, add quest counters to Earthbender Ascension, and let Mightform Harmonizer double a creature's power for the turn.
  • Early 2027 removes Fabled Passage and Hushwood Verge from the main deck, plus Sheltered by Ghosts, Torpor Orb, and Rest in Peace from the sideboard.

Overview: What Is Selesnya Landfall in Standard?

The Metagame Mentor analysis ranked Selesnya Landfall fourth at 4.0% of the winner's metagame and marked it as rising. The winner's metagame share combines popularity and net match wins. It combined over 400 successful decks from Magic Online Standard Challenges and Regional Championship Qualifier lists, covering August 18 through August 31, 2026.

The date range predates Reality Fracture's October 2, 2026 release. No Reality Fracture-era result data is published for this deck, so the aggregate list is only an August snapshot.

Selesnya Landfall is Mono-Green Landfall with a white package. The green cards make land entries productive, while Erode adds instant-speed removal and Dyadrine adds an attack trigger that can draw cards and create a Robot. The tradeoff is a less clean mana base (our mana base guide covers how to count colored sources) and costlier Forest-dependent spells.

Why Selesnya Landfall Works

Selesnya Landfall works because its land cards are both mana sources and inputs for permanent-based engines, while the white cards cover two different problems: Erode interacts on the opponent's turn or creates another landfall sequence on your side, and Dyadrine converts stored counters into cards and a body during an attack.

Land entries scale the battlefield

Sazh's Chocobo costs one green mana and gets a +1/+1 counter whenever a land you control enters. Fabled Passage, Temple Garden, Ba Sing Se, Escape Tunnel, and Hushwood Verge all feed the trigger when they enter, so the creature grows through ordinary land drops and basic-land searches.

fdn-107fdn-107 card artfdn-107Shop on TCGplayer Mossborn Hydra enters with a +1/+1 counter, has trample, and doubles its counters whenever a land you control enters. Earthbender Ascension adds a separate clock: it enters by earthbending two, then searches for a basic land and puts it onto the battlefield tapped. Each later land entry puts a quest counter on it; at four or more, that trigger puts a +1/+1 counter on a target creature and gives it trample until end of turn.

Extra land access keeps the triggers coming

eoe-192eoe-192 card arteoe-192Shop on TCGplayer Icetill Explorer is the list's clearest land engine. It lets you play an additional land on each turn, lets you play lands from your graveyard, and mills a card whenever a land you control enters.

frc-71frc-71 card artfrc-71Shop on TCGplayer Fabled Passage sacrifices to search for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped, then untaps that land if you control four or more lands. Escape Tunnel also finds a basic land tapped, or targets a creature with power two or less so it can't be blocked that turn. Shared Roots searches for a basic tapped. Ba Sing Se enters tapped unless you control a basic, taps for green, and can pay {2}{G} and tap at sorcery speed to earthbend two.

Esper Origins adds another graveyard path. It surveils two and gains two life for {1}{G}. For {3}{G} you can flash it back from the graveyard, which exiles the spell and puts the transformed Saga onto the battlefield with a finality counter. Its chapters reveal the top card, put it into your hand if it is a permanent, add {G}{G}, then give other creatures +2/+2 and trample until end of turn.

The white splash adds interaction and attack value

Erode costs {W} and is an instant that destroys a target creature or planeswalker. That permanent's controller may search for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Erode can also target one of your own creatures, especially a land made into a creature by earthbend.

Ba Sing Se's earthbend makes a land a 0/0 creature with haste that is still a land, then puts two +1/+1 counters on it. If that land dies or is exiled, it returns tapped. Erode can destroy that earthbent land, allowing it to return and allowing its controller to search for a basic land. Both land entries can create landfall triggers.

eoe-216eoe-216 card arteoe-216Shop on TCGplayer Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam costs {X}{G}{W}, has trample, and enters with +1/+1 counters equal to the mana spent to cast it. Whenever you attack, you may remove a counter from each of two creatures you control. If you do, you draw a card and create a 2/2 colorless Robot artifact creature token. Sazh's Chocobo, Mossborn Hydra, and Earthbender Ascension can supply those counters.

Step-by-Step: How to Play Selesnya Landfall

1. Establish both colors without losing the green engine. Prioritize green for Llanowar Elves, Sazh's Chocobo, Shared Roots, and the four-mana creatures, while tracking when white is needed for Erode or Dyadrine. Fabled Passage, Escape Tunnel, Shared Roots, and Earthbender Ascension can find basics, but the lands still need a useful sequence.

2. Put a landfall body on the battlefield. Sazh's Chocobo gets a +1/+1 counter whenever a land you control enters, and Mossborn Hydra enters with one before doubling its counters on later entries. Earthbender Ascension searches for a basic on entry, then rewards four quest counters by placing a +1/+1 counter on a creature and giving it trample for the turn.

3. Spend land access in the order that matters. Icetill Explorer lets you play an additional land on each turn and play lands from your graveyard, so its arrival changes how you value sacrificed lands. Fabled Passage untaps the searched land when you control four or more lands, while Escape Tunnel can make a small creature unblockable for the turn.

4. Use Erode with the board state in mind. Erode destroys a target creature or planeswalker, but the target's controller may search for a basic land tapped. If one of your lands is an earthbent creature, Erode can destroy it, return it tapped through Ba Sing Se's earthbend ability, and let you search for another basic land.

5. Turn counters into an attack step. Cast Dyadrine with the mana available for the counters you want, then attack when two creatures can each give up one. Paying that cost draws a card and creates a 2/2 Robot, while Mightform Harmonizer's landfall trigger can double a target creature's power until end of turn. Its warp cost is {2}{G}; the warped creature is exiled at the next end step and may be cast from exile later.

Bonus-sheet and promo printings were not checked. A card is listed here only when all of its Standard-set printings are in a leaving set; every other nonbasic card in this list has at least one printing in a set that stays.

The main deck loses four Fabled Passage and one Hushwood Verge, which changes the land-search and green-white source package. The sideboard loses Sheltered by Ghosts (exile of a nonland permanent), Torpor Orb (stopping creature-entry triggers), and Rest in Peace (graveyard exile). This guide names the losses and does not predict replacements.

Tips for Piloting Selesnya Landfall

  • Treat Fabled Passage as a trigger card as well as a land. It finds a basic land tapped and untaps that land once you control four or more lands, so its timing can affect Sazh's Chocobo, Mossborn Hydra, Earthbender Ascension, and Mightform Harmonizer.
  • Count Forests before casting Sapling Nursery. Its affinity for Forests reduces its cost by one for each Forest you control. Its landfall trigger creates a 3/4 green Treefolk with reach, and its activated ability can exile it so Treefolk and Forests you control gain indestructible until end of turn.
  • Check the target before casting Erode. The spell destroys a creature or planeswalker, but its controller may search for a basic land tapped. When Erode targets your own earthbent land, its return creates another entry.
  • Keep two counter-bearing creatures in mind for Dyadrine. Its attack trigger asks for a +1/+1 counter removed from each of two creatures. If both payments happen, the reward is exactly one card and one 2/2 colorless Robot artifact creature token.
  • Use Esper Origins for the part of the turn you need. It surveils two and gains two life, has flashback for {3}{G}, and its transformed Saga can reveal the top card and put it into your hand if it is a permanent, add {G}{G}, or give other creatures +2/+2 and trample on its third chapter.
  • Remember what the sideboard cards actually stop. Torpor Orb prevents creature entries from causing abilities to trigger, Rest in Peace exiles graveyards and future graveyard-bound cards, and Surrak, Elusive Hunter draws a card when an opposing spell or ability targets your creature or creature spell.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Selesnya Landfall in Standard, and how popular is it? Selesnya Landfall is the green-white version of Mono-Green Landfall, with Erode and Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam as the defining splash cards. Wizards ranked it fourth at 4.0% of the winner's metagame from a sample of over 400 successful decks dated August 18 to August 31, 2026. Those results predate Reality Fracture.

How does Selesnya Landfall win games? Selesnya Landfall wins by making land entries increase the size or power of its creatures, then attacking with that accumulated advantage. Sazh's Chocobo gets +1/+1 counters, Mossborn Hydra doubles its counters, Earthbender Ascension can add counters and trample, and Mightform Harmonizer can double a creature's power until end of turn.

Why is Erode important in the white splash? Erode is a one-mana white instant that destroys a target creature or planeswalker. Its target's controller may search for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped, so timing matters. Erode can also target your own earthbent land, letting that land's return and your own basic-land search create more land entries.

How does Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam create card advantage? Dyadrine enters with +1/+1 counters equal to the mana spent to cast it and has trample. Whenever you attack, you may remove a counter from each of two creatures you control. If you do, Dyadrine draws a card and creates a 2/2 colorless Robot artifact creature token, using the counters made by the landfall engine.

What should an opening hand contain? An opening hand should show access to the colors and a way to turn later land entries into progress. Green sources support Llanowar Elves and the core creatures, while white access matters for Erode or Dyadrine. Fabled Passage, Escape Tunnel, Shared Roots, and Earthbender Ascension can find basics, but their tapped entries still need planning.

Why is Sapling Nursery in the sideboard instead of the main deck? Sapling Nursery has affinity for Forests, so it costs one less for each Forest you control, and its landfall trigger creates a 3/4 Treefolk with reach. The white splash makes the mana base weaker and makes this Forest-dependent enchantment more expensive to cast, so the aggregate Selesnya list places all four copies in the sideboard.

What happens to the deck at the 2027 Standard rotation? Fabled Passage and Hushwood Verge leave from the main deck, while Sheltered by Ghosts, Torpor Orb, and Rest in Peace leave from the sideboard after checking each card's Standard-set printings. The other listed nonbasic cards have a printing in a set that stays. That identifies the losses without predicting replacements or post-rotation results.
